Clay Image Making at LSU Ealing Pujo 2017

This year we are bringing master craftsmen Kaushik Ghosh and Sudarshan Das from Kumartuli in Kolkata to create a spectacular set of clay images during the Durga Pujo at Ealing.

The project is part of the Bengal Heritage Project, and is being organised by London Sharad Utsav (LSU) in association with SOAS University of London. The exhibition kicks off at the LSU Pujo at the Ealing Town Hall (28th Sept to 1st Oct 2017), then moves on to the historic Paul Webley wing of the Senate Building of London University. Visitors will be able to witness first-hand the skills of Bengali craftsmen through the entire process of modeling and painting the icons, and of adorning them with ornaments.

For more details on our efforts please visit: The Making of A Heritage Icon

All donations towards the project will go towards funding the artists’ travel and stay in London, procuring materials to make the images and on the exhibition venues. The names of all sponsors and supporters to be displayed at both venues. All our supporters will be sent a hand-painted Thank You card.
